September 7, 2026 CFM: King Solomon Drops Some Wisdom
Last week this new website was up and ready to go. I had worked over 40 hours to put it all together. But not trusting in my own abilities, I though I could turn to AI and make it “that much better.” My heart broke when the AI through a series of weird missteps reset my page and cleared all the cache. I admit, there was some gnashing of teeth, big frustrated tears, and even a feeling of heartbreak. All that work, for nothing.
I had a choice: Would I stay down and just throw my hands up in the air? Or would I get back up and get to work?
Before making the choice I did the wise research of calling upon my best friend. Telling her my tale of woe I asked her what she would do in my situation. Would she throw in the towel and hire someone to come finish the job? Would she just say it was a sign from God?
Her answer surprised me. With all the wisdom of Solomon she said, “Cherie? Who are you doing this for?” I was quiet and thought and then said, “For God. To bring the gospel to parents who are stuck on the application. That want their kids to know the scriptures and God’s word, and want to share it with them.” Then she asked, “What if God asked you to start over one more time. Would you do it?” “Of course.” I replied. Then she said something completely unexpected, “What if God was asking you to do this ENTIRE thing for just one person. Would you still do it?” I froze. I thought about this for a few days. Then I knew the answer. “Of course.” If this could bring just ONE person to Christ, it would all be worth it.
This past week I saw the one. I saw it over and over again.
I attended a local play and watched as 30 amazing actors sang and dance their heart out. Then as the play ended they announced that the entire proceeds of the show would be donated to a mom battling cancer. I thought of the hours of learning, practicing, memorizing, dancing, traveling, and work they were all doing. The night after night curtain calls. And all for the one.
I sat in the temple this week during an endowment session. Looking down at the card I held in my hand I saw the one again. I saw this woman that lived in Scotland in the early 1800s. It was just one woman. I never knew her, but God did. I looked at the names of the temples on her card and saw that 3 of us had come together to serve just her. And another would seal her to her parents and spouse and possibly in another temple. Everyone that had shown up at the temple each of those days? They showed up for the one.
King Solomon said, “Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)
I don’t know where the Lord is taking all of this, but I’m content to step back and say that as long as it’s reaching the one God needs to reach, that’s good and beautiful. And maybe this time, maybe its me.
Your Sister in Christ,
